I am using the Acuvue Moist dailies for the first time today and i'm not sure whether it's normal to feel them in my eyes?

They're not red or itchy but I can feel that they're in. Does it take time to adjust? Or do I need to switch to a different brand?

Tia

No. Are they in the right way round?

I don't feel mine. Are they in the right way?

Is it your first time ever wearing contact lenses?

I was coming to ask if you had them in the wrong way. Take them out and look, if you can see the lip of the lens, rather than a smooth bowl shape, they might be inside out.

Are they the right fit? When I changed make it took a couple of tries to get the ones that fit right. The optician helped me out with that. I don't feel mine at all

It's years since I wore lenses, but IMO you can feel the lens edges. As you get used to it, you start to ignore it and eventually you don't feel it at all.

Contey to the other poster although my contacts where always comfortable and never irritated me I could always tell I was wearing them. I would forget sometimes if I was busy, but I definitely new they where there.

I think it totally depends on your contacts (I'm assuming you haven't worn them before) you may find another brand that is more comfortable for you though. So if these are the first ones you've tried it is worth trying others.

I was given trial lenses and they checked the fit for me and said all was ok. I then used the same numbers on my prescription to order these ones (so same base curve/cyl/axis) so was assuming the fit and everything will be the same

I will check if theyre the right way around now! Thanks!

No, you shouldn't feel a well-fitting contact lens at all.

No you shouldn’t. I had this when my eyes were too dry and I had to change the brand.
Once I got the right ones I can’t feel them!

Mine are Precision 1 lenses! (Toric lenses for astigmatism)
They are expensive but worth it.
I tried a lot of ‘moist’ lenses but they were uncomfortable

I get dry eyes so I can feel lenses when I’ve had them in all day/I’m tired/the air cons on/I’ve been at the computer too long. I never knew I had dry eyes until I got contact lenses so maybe you’re the same 😂

Maybe stick to ones from your optician for a while so you can tell if bought ones are right or not.

I agree - i have dry eyes and they make lenses unbearable at times.

I got drops to use 3-4 times a day and a hot/cold compress to use daily.

Made a huge difference

Yes still got an issue in the left eye. So not sure whether that was just irritated from putting in and taking out the trial contacts for the last few days. I think I will stick with the trial ones and order more of those even though they're more expensive! The ones they gave me were Precision 1. Thanks all! I will try the hot compress and eyedrops for the eye that's causing issues :) thank you

@Qwerty8474 the optician kept tellling me to persevere and use eye drops and informed me that the next ones were expensive! I felt comfortable straight away and don’t use eye drops with precision 1s.

@MoserRothOrangeandAlmond I have to admit they were very comfortable. Silly me should have just ordered the same ones but as my prescription is different in both eyes I was looking for a cheaper alternative. Ill order the Precision 1's as I know for a fact I got on with them

I can't get on with the Acuvue Moist lenses, I can feel them moving around my eye. I switched back to the Acuvue Oasys I was wearing previously and the were fine. Sadly they are a lot more expensive but worth it for the comfort

I've worn contacts for many years, but I can't get on with the Acuvue Moist.. . they just don't feel right. I actually find Specsavers own brand far more comfortable!

Really don’t risk your sight by ordering online lenses - particularly different from what was prescribed

you only get one set of eyes

I only become aware of mine towards the end of a day where I’m starting to get tired and they’ve been in for 10+ hours. Taking them out feels lovely, but when I put them in in the mornings I don’t notice them.

There's nothing wrong with ordering online providing you get regular check ups and stick to what the optician has prescribed. If I bought my lenses from Specsavers they would cost a lot more than buying them online.
