I spent my birthday at the Westin Hilton Head. I wanted a nice, peaceful and relaxing getaway and this location delivered! Our room was clean and the service at the restaurants was exceptional. I walked by to notice housekeeping cleaning another room and saw that they sweep and mop the floors. Housekeeping also pays close attention to detail because I saw them cleaning baseboards in the hallways and vacuuming common areas. I have stayed at other resorts and had not seen a housekeeping staff spend time doing this. They were also friendly! The icing on the cake was when Jasmine (front desk staff member) sent a birthday platter of treats to our room to say happy birthday to me. She also included a handwritten card from the hotel staff! I thought this was so thoughtful! We have stayed at one other resort in Hilton Head and we were so glad we stayed at the Westin this time! We’ll be back.
Nice enough, clean simple rooms and bath, but for a hotel that has just been redone, kind of disappointing. On some days our room wasn't cleaned. I think part of the problem is the turnover. It's extremely crowded, everywhere, ie: it's almost impossible to find a place to park, and good luck finding two chairs together at the pool that you don't have to pay for. Prepare to pay extra for everything including chairs near the pool and the beach. $40 for two sand covered beach chairs a day is a lot, and unnecessary. The poolside restaurant is very good, Splash was not great, and the Carolina Room was fair, almost cafeteria like. So to the point, almost $3000 for three nights, so many hidden fees, we won't stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Westin! The staff were all friendly and very accommodating. Plenty of space at the pools for everyone. The food and drinks were tasty. Only issue we had was our room wasn’t ready and it was an hour past check in time. Not ideal with 2 small kids! We got 2 free days of breakfast and free valet parking to make up for the inconvenience. Overall, I would definitely recommend this location and we’ll be back!

We had an absolutely exceptional stay at the Westin in Hilton Head. Katia had fantastic customer service support at the front counter. Fast, thorough and extremely kind. She upgraded me and my Wife's room for our honeymoon which was spectacular. The tranquil atmosphere and smell of this location is intoxicatingly relaxed. The in-house spa was a great activity for my wife while I went golfing, which was beautiful; even in November. The pool deck is godly. This location is fully dog friendly great for service animals, but has a reasonable policy about unruly dogs. My wife and I will 100% be back in May for a longer stay, if you are paying over $500/nightly for a room it is fully worth it!!

The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because they have the cheapest toilet paper I’ve ever used in my life, little on in a swanky resort. The bed is very comfortable and the food was good. We had an ocean view room but not worth the extra money in my opinion. Bring your own toilet paper unless you have figured out how to use there two ply that you can see through. The best thing for me was being able to enjoy the low light levels and being able to star gaze half the night. Absolutely amazing views of the sky. Actually able to view 15 constellation 3 different nights.

Hotel is renovated but missing underlaying infrastructure like stairwell or elevator. It is a forever walk to go from lobby to room. Pools are nice. Rooms are good. Food and drinks are average. Great access to the beach. Do not recommend the spa service. Read my review directly on the spa.

This hotel is very loud. For the price and caliber of this hotel I’d expect it to be much better insulated. All week we were constantly hearing our neighbors next door, people in the hallway, doors closing, and people above us. I’ve had better and quieter stays at much lower budget hotels.I requested a king when I reserved the room and upon check in was told the only way I could have a king was to pay $150 more per night for an ocean view. The rooms are nicely remodeled and the beds are comfortable. We had lunch one day at the hotel restaurant. It took about 10 mins for a server to be available and the restaurant was completely dead. We paid $60 incl. tip for two entrees and a coffee. The food was very mediocre, definitely not worth the price. The cafe was great - they were always quick and very pleasant with great service.Overall not super relaxing or enjoyable when you wake up in the middle of the night or have a hard time going to sleep due to loud neighbors.

We are staying off property in Hilton head and came on to have a resort breakfast in the Carolina Room. The service was very slow, the food quality was sub standard for what we usually experience at a Westin and we didn’t feel that our food allergies were taken seriously, so much so that one member of our party left food untouched as a precaution. We specifically chose the Westin because we felt service and attention to detail was part of the Westin experience. When we sat waiting on our bill for more than 20 minutes, I tried to find a manager to assist with getting us checked out with no luck. What we intended to be a special and fun breakfast on vacation turned into a disappointing few hours. We left wishing we had chosen a local place instead.

My wife and I were celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary. Hotel was highly recommended to me by friends of mine, so we decided to make Westin our destination.I booked the king with the island view. When we checked in, the desk receptionist said that he was upgrading me to a different view with double queens. I expressed that I’d prefer a king size bed for my wife and I, however, he said that he could not accommodate me because all the kings were taken. When I asked him how could all the kings be taken if I was able to reserve the room I chose. He said that due to the General Managers daughter getting married, he took the rooms with the king beds. This immediately upset me because if the room was not available, it should not have shown as available. The two nights were very uncomfortable because the first night, we both couldn’t sleep. I fell out of the bed, and had to sleep in the other bed.Imagine celebrating your anniversary, and having to sleep in two separate beds because the GM has the ability to inconvenience other guest to accommodate his own.

So, I am here to leave my feedback about our recent stay at the Westin Hotel. Recently I had an upsetting stay at this hotel, unfortunately. The Westin hotel purports itself to be a nice resort near the ocean but in my situation this is not the case. The prices of the stay do not meet the expectations. So, in the first place what was most concerning is the staff entered our room and took our personal items claiming we have checked out, which is not true because the check out is at 11 AM. We discovered housekeeping in our room at 10:30 AM and we were not checked out at that point. It is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE to take guest’s personal items. Next thing that was bad is housekeeping is not responsive. Toiletries finished in our bathroom, we went downstairs and were promised that housekeeping will bring it our room immediately. So what happened next, after 30 minutes nobody showed up so we called reception and were promised the same thing again, which didn’t happen again. So after 1 hour of waiting we went downstairs again and only after that did the receptionist go to get our stuff. I believe the hotel staff should work better and not make their guests to run up and down looking for toilet paper or any other things. Moreover, the next day they took our wash cloths and never gave us new ones. The story did not finish here though, not at all. It kept going on. One of the nights of our stay we were woken up at 3 am and needed to leave the premises for 1 hour. 3 AM! And just because of the false alarm as we were told later by the lady at the front desk who was smiling not knowing what to do. For such hotel the administration should have done better than just telling “false alarm”. Additionally, the food variety is absolutely lacking. As a person on a healthy diet, I had nothing to eat. I spent the whole week eating rice as I did not have an opportunity to drive out. Thankfully I had brought a few cookies with me, so at least I had some variety. Thank you for such a stay. I will definitely consider spending money at somewhere else.

The rooms are beautiful and grounds are well maintained. There is plenty of covered parking and the beach is just a short walk from any room. There are nice indoor and outdoor pools as well as outdoor game and cooking spaces.Activity staff was always a joy to spend time with, but know there are many small charges awaiting you if you don’t get everything from the front desk at check-in and they aren’t the best about letting you know those details. This applies to things like extra towels, bags of ice, coffee, etc.

While this resort and hotel is nice, they are missing the boat on a few comforts that guests should be able to enjoy for the high cost they pay. The signs in the hotel are so horrible and do a terrible job of helping you navigate where to go. The building is like a maze and it wouldn't be so hard to navigate if the signs pointing you in the right direction were accurate. I have gotten lost multiple times, even with their map. When trying to find places, they are omitted from lobby signs and hallway signs completely (like the dog park that I searched for for over thirty minutes). This made my first morning at the resort one of the most frustrating experiences. I should not feel this way at a place that costs this much. The pet-friendly status that this hotel boasts is questionable. They boast a "dog park" which is insanely hard to find because the few signs that point you towards the dog park land you at a sandy trail with no sign at all. This is apparently the dog park and I only know because it is labeled on the map as such. It would be nice if guests knew that the only grass at the entire resort is a few strips of it out front. For those of us with dogs who use grass, this is very frustrating. It isn't as if they couldn't have put some fake grass in the "dog park" for dogs to use because it is all over the pool deck. Additionally, every sign for a gate that enters the pool deck staunchly says that dogs are not allowed on the pool deck; however, the only way to get to the dog park and the beach access are across the pool deck. The signs in this place make no sense and become very confusing for guests who are just trying to follow the rules. For the price, the resort is nice, but there is a lot left to be desired. For the price, I expect none of these things to be issues and yet they are.

We were there celebrating our 40th anniversary and my upcoming birthday by attending the Coastal BBQ and oyster roast which was so good. When we got back to our room there was a special delivery from the staff of champagne and tray of desserts! Amazing stay. Thank you!

We stayed here for 3 nights and our first time in Hilton Head. We reserved a tee time at the nearby Port Royal golf course an and used the hotel shuttle service for the ride over. When we completed our golf round we called for the hotel shuttle and got no answer or a busy signal for at least 30 minutes. Finally got through to the hotel and waited at least another 30 minutes before the shuttle finally arrived. I strongly recommend taking your own vehicle when going to the nearby golf course. Do not depend on their shuttle service!

Our good friends were in town visiting from Denver and staying at this hotel. They have been coming every year at the same hotel for some time now. She went to the hotel lobby ahead of time and obtained a parking pass for me and they were thrilled to have someone come that lived on the island. They gave 2 towels cards and 2 wrist bands for my daughter and I for the day. However, when I came to the gate to park, they said I would have to leave my car outside the gate and walk all the way in. I tried to explain and showed my parking pass, the man would not budge. My daughter and I had our bags and were not wearing shoes for walking so far up and around through the parking lot on such a hot day. My friend was so upset and confused as to why the hotel lobby staff was so easy to work with but then we were refused at the gate. We ate at the pool bar restaurant and they never gave us eating utensils or napkins. The ketchup was empty and no refills on the drinks. When swimming, there was never anyone coming to check on us if we needed anything and the pools were quite dirty with bugs and gunk. Needless to say, not a great experience and I don't think our friends will be coming back to this hotel for their trip next year.

The Westin Hilton Head Resort and Spa was a fantastic experience starting with our check in with Wes to our departure. The staff was pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. Food was very good at Splash, View 32 and the Carolina Room. The Director of Food service assisted me a lost item and followed through with what he said. Bravo to him. Outside area is outstanding. From the pool to the pool bar to easy access to the beach. Resort was clean. Cleaning staff so friendly. Great way to enjoy family and relax.

I was truly looking forward to this trip and having a very relaxed time. However, because of their current reservation process, I was highly disappointed and disturbed every day of my trip.Although the hotel was nice, and most of the service was great. The Reservation process needs to be brought up to industry standards. In my opinion, if the reservation process requires you to put in a credit card and then the hotel produces a receipt that shows a confirmation number and then the hotel places a hold on the credit card for the amount of the hotel cost, one would assume that the room has been paid for. However, I found that was not the case, and after several attempts to rectify the situation, it wasn’t until I made it back home, that I find out that the hotel stay still needed to be paid for.

To be completely fair we stayed on an extremely busy family oriented July 4th weekend. They absolutely catered to family and kid oriented guests and rightfully so given time of year. We had a great experience overall. Rooms are refreshed and spacious. We had cocktails daily at 32 and the bartenders did a fantastic job. Breakfast at Carolina room was perfect and enjoyed this daily. The beach is very crowded as was the pool but our primary purpose was golf and adulting for this trip! Also a quick shout out to gents at valet...also fantastic.

The hotel is in a great location. My room was clean. The pools were nice- there is a review saying there weren’t any pool chairs - that was false. There were plenty of chairs each day. The sand by the beach was powder and soft. No shells. Self parking was “free” as it was apart of the resort fee.

A great family friendly location. Good swimming pools and great beach accessibility. The service provided by the room service was great, always quick to our requests. Super friendly as well.Cons:They have 3 pools on-site but unfortunately it seemed like they were not cleaned daily. The floor near the pools were chipped which can possibly hurt someone considering people are barefoot when walking around the pool. The other issue we had was that we could hear people from the adjacent rooms, we were woken up by a 6:00 am alarm from the next room.

Loved this resort! Didn't want to leave! Rooms were immaculate and provided everything you needed. The pools were very well laid out and plenty of chairs. Only thing I didn't care for was that all of the chairs closest to the biggest pool had to be rsvp'd and paid for. The greatest thing to me was being able to walk right onto the beach from the resort within a few minutes.Would definitely come back!

I recently stayed at the Westin with my family and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the rooms were fantastic. They were newly renovated, clean, and beautifully decorated. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and all the amenities we needed were readily available. The staff at the hotel were also wonderful. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional, and hospitable. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to ensure that we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.Unfortunately, our experience with the management of the hotel was far from satisfactory. Despite the excellent service from the staff, the management's attitude was quite the opposite. We encountered several instances where the management made us feel unwanted and less than. Their approach to customer service was dismissive and unprofessional, which significantly marred our overall experience. There are far too many instances to write in this one post but the one that stands out the most is as follows: we drove from quite a distance and booked a King Suite with a couch bed but when we arrived we did not receive the room we booked. The staff was very apologetic and wanted to accommodate us but we overheard management on the phone with the staff mention that we were being “annoying” in asking for some sort of recompense for the mistake. From that point the staff attempted to help us and fix the situation but management did not even attempt to greet us or apologize. It's disappointing that such a beautifully renovated hotel with a great team of staff is overshadowed by poor management. I hope they address these issues soon, as it has the potential to be an exceptional place to stay. For now, I would hesitate to recommend it due to the management's behavior.

Beautiful location, Tired resort with maintenance needed. The resort is in a beautiful spot and the grounds are fairly well maintained but the interiors need work for the price. Our check in process while later at night was very slow. It took someone approximately 5 mins to come out and greet us when literally no one else was around. Once he came out, the computers weren’t working properly so it took a solid 20 mins to get our room keys. The elevators are SLOW and when the resort is popping, you wait forever because it feels like every time it opens, it’s full. I have M.S. and requested an accessible room near the elevator so I don’t have to walk farther than necessary but I’m pretty sure I was in the farthest spot even though there was clearly vacancy during our trip. Our room was tired and in desperate need of refreshing. The “accessible” bathroom was not… it had a bathtub that went up to my knees and was difficult to get in and out, especially with the slippery tub. Installing grab bars doesn’t constitute accessible. The wallpaper is literally peeling from the walls because the ventilation is poor in the bathroom and the vents are rusting out coupled with the humidity of course. We were told they were queen beds but we’re certain they were maybe fulls making for an uncomfortable squeeze for adults. The food and drinks are overpriced… $14 for a pina colada! The deck area around the pool is a trip hazard with warped and broken pieces. We went to the hot tub around 8 which opens at 7am only to have to wait because it was being cleaned… this should definitely happen outside of open hours.WeWent out to the beach about 8:30am and there was staff only starting to put chairs out so there wasn’t anywhere to sit.Ultimately it seems that they were short staffed the entire time and the property needs a good amount of attention to warrant the pricing.. Especially some safety concerns.

Beautiful location, right on the north beach. Beautiful hotel with some minor issues that could be resolved. Scratches, cracks, door not soft closing.Staff were always so friendly, willing to go above and beyond, and just excellent in general.Beautiful view from the room, short walk right into the beach.

We had to book a last minute vacation for the week of 4th of July, because of Hurricane Beryl coming towards Mexico. We love Hilton Head and decided that we wanted to back there. We normally rent a house with other families, but it was just the 3 of us this time. We landed on The Westin Resort and Spa.From the time we arrived, we felt welcome by all staff. Our room was nice with an ocean view. Housekeeping was done daily and always fresh towels in the room. Pool area was nice and never had any issues getting drinks and food. Loved that it was right on the beach too.I also want to write what my experience was amazing with forgetting one of my bags with easily $1,000 worth of shoes. They made sure the bag was mailed back to me and all items are present. This tells a lot about the honesty of the hotel and their staff.I give this hotel 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We will definitely stay here again!
